Karen studied at London's Harrow School of Art, where her teachers included world-renowned potters David Leach, Michael Casson and Walter Keeler.  She maintains her studio in Idaho. While she worked in other media--etchings and drawings--she always returned to her first love, ceramics, to express her love for animals.

Among those who have collected her designs are Julie Andrews, Lauren Bacall, Shari Lewis, Malcolm McDowell, Luciano Pavarotti, Anthony Perkins and Berry Berenson, Mary Steenburgen, Jennifer Tilly, Tracey Ullman and Cindy Williams. Steffi Graff stocked up on her fanciful and soulful animal imagery mugs on several occasions when visiting our Washington DC Gallery.
