Beautiful & Affordable Handcrafted Gifts!

Handmade in the USA

Anita makes each sheet of paper and layers it to create the tile itself. Trash is transformed into sheets of handmade paper. Multiple layers of paper are pressed together in her Pennsylvania Studio - to form the tiles. Reused fabrics are cut into shapes of real trees and applied to the tiles.  The tiles are framed with rough-cut lumber drops in her Studio.

The tile floats within in a rough-cut lumber frame.

Great Feature to each Tile … There is an empty space between the tile and frame that allows the wall behind to become part of the piece.

About the Foster Failure Tile… We loved Anita’s work as soon as we saw it and collaborated with her on this particular idea for a Tile – we asked her to create a tile dedicated to animal rescue - for foster moms and dads and families … including foster failures… and those able to continue fostering others after their “fail”.

Don’t be surprised if more tiles arise in this “Series”!

“PoCo Paper was born out of concern for preserving the planet. We began to notice the large amount of paper that we were adding to the trash ending up in the local landfill. Because we were looking for ways to commit to a clean planet, it became increasingly important for us to rescue that waste. PoCo was born! The joining of the words post and consumer became PoCo. Then the work began!

Our handmade line of products is made of 100% Post Consumer Fiber.

Wikipedia.com defines post consumer waste as a waste type produced by the end consumer of a material mainstream - where the waste-producing use did not involve the production of another product. For example, the envelopes that my Studio uses are 100% recycled with 20% post consumer fiber. That means that 80% of the fiber came from manufactured scrap and 20% is post consumer fiber.”
