These elegant earrings are a limited production piece that Donna created for our Gallery’s Collection of her Work.

Hand-formed Earrings from sheets of sterling silver; hand- etched with botanical design; and accented with 24 K gold foil

Donna works directly with the metals by hand sawing, hand hammering, and hand forming. Each piece is constructed by using sheet sterling silver accented with 24 K gold foil, bronze, and semi-precious gemstones. Her craftsmanship and personal artistic expression transform these raw materials into jewelry that is so flattering to wear.

*We were shocked and very saddened to learn today on 3/22/17 that Donna McAfee, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on February 22, 2017 in Wichita.

Donna celebrated almost 42 years of marriage with her husband Bill. She graduated with a master degree in art education at Emporia State University 1978 and taught art for 9 years before starting her own business McAfee Metalry - designing and constructing fine jewelry from her home. She was a member of numerous arts and craftsman societies. Her fine Jewelry is consistently gorgeous, distinctive, and meticulously handcrafted from fine silver, gold and often set with various semi-precious gemstones. 

Donna created Collections specifically for our Gallery –as we loved her work and wanted to feature her Work – in price points that worked for our Gallery. The Pieces in our current collection were designed uniquely for The Magical Animal and are literally one of kind.

When we decided to put them “on sale” in anticipation of a Mother’s Day Order that we had planned on ordering this week… we didn’t know yet of Donna’s sudden passing. Donna was a very generous person and we believe that she would enjoy the idea of providing a special chance for someone to purchase her Work – during the unusual occasion of being offered on sale.

Donna lived her life with a positive and intense attitude and treasured her time with family and friends. She was and remains a treasure and she will be greatly missed. Her pieces in this Collection are a Treasure and those fortunate to purchase these special pieces will wear a part of her passion – truly handcrafted with love ❤.
